Princeton University Reflecting Pool
Princeton University does not mess around when it comes to waterproofing. Especially when installing a reflecting pool filled with water that is above occupied space! It’s extremely important to trust the waterproofing system that’s being installed. Now if this reflecting pool also has SKYLIGHTS? Well, that takes a much bigger sense of trust! We are honored that Princeton University has that sort of trust in Laurenco Waterproofing.
So why was Laurenco Waterproofing chosen as the waterproofing system for the reflection pool and skylights?
- Protection — With occupants below, its imperative to select a waterproofing system that has a long history of success. Laurenco Waterproofing has a proven track record of over 60 years of waterproofing protection.
- Black– Princeton University was very insistent on having the bottom surface of the pool black in color. When viewed from above, the black on the bottom gives the appearance of great depth in the pool even though it measures at only 2 feet deep.
- Clean Lines — In the photo below, the contractor is installing Laurenco Butyl Tape in Laurenco Adhesive. This is applied on top of the Laurenco Waterproofing 2-Ply System, and creates beautiful clean lines around all the skylights. In addition to making the waterproofing around the skylights aesthetically pleasing, it also increases the waterproofing protection around the skylights.
